Emma Kavanagh is a highly experienced psychologist who brings more than 20 years of clinical expertise to her work with children, adolescents, adults and older adults. Known for her warm, collaborative style, Emma supports clients through a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety, mood disorders, eating disorders, life transitions, trauma, workplace mental health issues, and relationship concerns.

Emma has worked extensively across private practice, hospitals, community and corporate settings and national mental health programs, giving her a deep understanding of the many factors that influence wellbeing. Drawing on approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and mindfulness‑based interventions, Emma tailors each session to the individual’s goals, values, and lived experience. Her practice is inclusive, with a strong commitment to creating a safe, non‑judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood.

Alongside her clinical work, she is a leader in workplace and community mental health, designing national programs and training initiatives that promote wellbeing across diverse industries. Emma is passionate about mental health education across the lifespan and empowering people to develop practical psychological tools they can use in their everyday lives.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons) from Trinity College Dublin, an MA from Trinity College Dublin, and completed her postgraduate training at Macquarie University Sydney. She is registered with AHPRA, a Member of the Australian Psychological Society, and a Licensed Mental Health First Aid Instructor.

Emma is committed to providing compassionate, evidence‑based care that empowers clients to understand their experiences, build resilience and create meaningful change to optimise their well-being.

Emma sees clients Tuesday and Wednesday at Mosman.
