In our fast-paced world, it’s easy for women to put their needs last. Between caring for others, juggling responsibilities, and trying to meet expectations, there’s often little time left to rest, reflect, or reconnect with ourselves.

That’s why Clinical Psychologist Emma Spencer and Yoga Teacher Cherie Smith have created these intimate, seasonal retreats for women—afternoons designed to nourish your mind, body, and breath.

These three-hour sessions are a gentle but powerful invitation to slow down and reconnect with what matters most.

A Unique Blend of Psychology, Breath & Movement

Each retreat combines:

  • Psychological education and evidence-based strategies
  • Yin yoga, tailored to seasonal themes and emotional tone
  • Breathwork to support nervous system regulation
  • Guided meditation and reflective journaling
  • A supportive space for personal insight and growth

Emma and Cherie’s goal is for you to leave not only feeling grounded and nourished—but equipped with practical tools and insights you can take into your everyday life to create meaningful, lasting change.

Grounded in Seasonal Cycles

These retreats are thoughtfully designed around the four seasons of the year. We’ve lost connection with the natural rhythms of the earth—and with the cyclical nature of our own minds and bodies. Each retreat explores a psychological theme tied to the season:

  • Autumn: Letting go, boundaries, and grief
  • Winter: Stillness, fear, and self-trust
  • Spring: Growth, flexibility, and hope
  • Summer: Joy, vitality, and authentic expression

By aligning with the energy of each season, we create space to tune into what’s present for you now—and what needs to be nurtured.

Meet Your Facilitators

Emma Spencer
Emma is a Clinical Psychologist, Women’s Health Advocate, and CEO of Spencer Health. With decades of experience supporting women across the lifespan, Emma brings psychological depth and heartfelt compassion to her facilitation. She is passionate about creating safe, accessible spaces where women can reflect, learn, and make empowered changes in their lives.

Cherie Smith
Cherie is a warm and passionate yoga teacher and primary school educator. As a new mum herself, she understands how overwhelming and demanding the modern world can be for women. Through her own healing journey, she found grounding and strength in yoga, and now shares those principles through yoga, breathwork, and gentle movement to support clarity, calm, and inner connection.

The Space

These retreats are hosted at the Avalon Yoga Co-Op, nestled in the heart of Avalon Beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. This peaceful coastal space is the perfect setting for slowing down, connecting inward, and resetting your nervous system.

Location: Avalon Yoga Co-Op, Level 1, 55 Avalon Parade, Avalon Beach NSW
Cost: $180 + GST per session

Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat, water bottle, journal, and pen. Light refreshments are provided.

Each retreat runs from 1:00pm – 4:00pm on a Saturday afternoon.
