Client Wellness and Attendance Policy

Our Commitment

At Spencer Health we are committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for our clients, their families, and our team. To protect everyone’s wellbeing, we ask that all clients and caregivers follow the guidelines below regarding illness and attendance.

When to Stay Home

For the health of our team and other clients, please do not attend the clinic if you or your child:

  • Have cold or flu-like symptoms (such as cough, runny nose, sore throat, fever, body aches).
  • Have a contagious illness (e.g., COVID-19, gastroenteritis, chickenpox).
  • Are feeling generally unwell and unable to participate fully in a session.

This applies at any time of year, but is especially important during cold and flu season.

What to Do if You’re Unwell

  • Please cancel your face-to-face appointment as soon as possible if you or your child are unwell. As per our client cancellation policy, please ensure you give us 24hours notice so as not to incur a cancellation fee.
  • Wherever appropriate, we can offer a telehealth session instead so that you don’t miss out on support.

If You Arrive Unwell

If you or your child attend an appointment while showing signs of illness:

  • We may provide you with a mask to wear during your visit.
  • In some cases, we may reschedule the appointment to protect our team and other clients.

Why This Matters

Our team members work closely with children, young people, and adults every day. Many of our clients and staff are particularly vulnerable to illness. By staying home when unwell, you are helping us keep our clinic safe, healthy, and open for everyone.

Thank You

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Together, we can ensure that Spencer Health remains a safe and supportive environment for all.
