Emma Spencer is a Clinical Psychologist and the CEO of Spencer Health, an esteemed national health and training organisation. With a strong background in leadership, training, and mentoring, Emma has held various leadership roles, including Site Manager, Clinical Supervisor, and Executive-Level Allied Health Representative. She has also worked in clinical settings, consulting, project management, and neuropsychological assessment, contributing to nationwide mental health programs. As a dynamic trainer and speaker, she is passionate about upskilling health professionals and shaping the future of mental health care.
For many years, Emma’s clinical work focused on children, adolescents, and families, providing complex assessments and therapeutic support for a range of mental health and neurodevelopmental presentations. She has developed and facilitated therapy and parenting programs, supported families through challenging transitions, and guided young people in managing their mental health. She is also the developer of the Low Demand Approach to Therapy for PDA, a clinical framework for supporting PDAers using trauma informed and neurodiversity affirming principles. While her knowledge and skill in child and adolescent psychology remains a valued part of her background, Emma now centres her clinical focus on supporting and empowering women through their mental health journey.
Emma practices from an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) framework, while integrating a range of evidence-based modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, EMDR, Parts Work, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and Mindfulness. She has a special interest in working with women experiencing:
- Trauma
- Grief and loss
- Chronic pain, chronic fatigue, and chronic illness
- Anxiety
- PMDD
- ADHD and Autism
- Parenting challenges
- Hormonal shifts and menopause
- Depression and mood issues
Her clinical work is centered on compassionate, integrative, and evidence-based support, empowering women to reconnect with themselves, build resilience, and take control of their mental health.

Emma is also the host of “The Empower Hour” – previously hosted on local radio, and soon to be relaunched as a Podcast for women everywhere.
Commitment to Neurodiversity Affirming Care:
Emma is deeply committed to supporting neurodivergent communities and works from a neurodiversity affirming approach. As a parent of neurodivergent children and a clinician with neurodivergent family members, she has personally and professionally witnessed the challenges faced by neurodivergent individuals. She has completed extensive training within and outside of Australia, sought supervision and consultation from neurodivergent clinicians, and integrates evidence-based, neurodiversity affirming principles into her practice.
