We are excited to be providing these much-needed services to Metropolitan and Regional Tasmania. Spencer Health has a strong background in providing neuroaffirming assessment for a range of developmental and learning profiles.

What age range do you provide assessment to:

We can provide thorough assessment from toddlers through to young adults. For adults requiring assessment we encourage you to opt for our Online assessment services. Further information can be found here

What are the fees for assessment:

Our fees vary depending on the service you are requiring. Typical fees are:

Autism Assessment child/adolescent - $3000 + $165 pro forma fee
ADHD Assessment child/adolescent-$2200 + $165 pro forma fee
Combined ADHD/Autism assessment child/assessment - $3400 +$165 pro forma fee
Learning/Educational assessment - $1800 + $165 pro forma fee

Are there any rebates for assessment services?

If you have been provided a referral for assessment via the Complex Developmental Disorders pathway, you may be eligible for a rebate for your assessment.

We are unable to provide rebates via the use of a Mental Health Care Plan as this relates to treatment services only.

Do you have a payment plan or finance option?

YES!

We have partnered with EdStart to provide you a variety of options to finance your assessment. There are no extra fees or costs associated with using this option. More information can be found on this useful information handout

Can we use your assessment reports to apply for NDIS funding?

YES!

Our Autism and Developmental assessments are supervised by and signed off by Clinical Psychologists meaning you can use our reports to access NDIS funding.

What does the assessment process look like?

Step 1 – Initial Session (online)

An initial appointment will be conducted with you and your clinician over Zoom. The purpose of this session is to obtain relevant background information and to ensure that the most appropriate assessment process is being utilised.

Step 2 – Questionnaires

Following the initial session, relevant online questionnaires will be sent to you, as well as the child/adolescent’s school or other appropriate individuals. At times your clinician may also conduct interviews with educators or other health providers related to you or your child’s care.

Step 3 – Face to Face assessment

Cognitive/academic and behavioural (where relevant) assessments will be conducted on site at our Hobart or Launceston locations.

Step 4 – Report preparation

Your clinician will compile all of the information provided and collate this into a comprehensive diagnostic and recommendation report.

Step 5 – Feedback session (online)

The final step of the process is to provide you with feedback in relation to the assessment conducted. This will cover findings as well as recommendations.
