Fees, Cancellations and Rebates
General Fees
Our fees vary depending on which service you are seeking and which health professional you are consulting with. Fees will be discussed with you at your initial enquiry to ensure you can make an informed decision before going ahead with booking an appointment or booking into one of our group therapy programs.
Payment Policy Update
All payments are now processed by credit card through our secure practice management platform, except for plan managed NDIS clients . Please note that a transaction fee of approximately 1.8-2% will be added to cover processing costs. Our system is designed with advanced encryption technology to ensure that your payment details remain secure and protected. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to our team for assistance.
If you would like further information with regard to the security of your card details, please head to the following website: https://blog.halaxy.com/halaxy-card-security-faqs/
Cancellations and Repeated No Shows
If you need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you do so more than 24 hours before the appointment so that we can notify your health professional and to offer the vacated appointment slot to individuals on our wait list. If you do cancel the appointment less than 24 hours prior to the nominated time, we will charge you the full rate for the service you have missed.
You will be provided a text confirmation 48 hours prior to your appointment. Please ensure you contact the relevant centre if you wish to cancel or rebook your session. A text response to the message sent will not be accepted as notification of cancellation.
We understand that at times life can be extremely challenging, and attending regular scheduled appointments might become difficult for you. Should you find you need to repeatedly cancel sessions, or do not attend your scheduled session without notice on multiple occasions, your health professional may terminate sessions with you until such a time that your life circumstances affords you the capacity to commit to regular treatment sessions.
Funding and Rebates
The following initiatives can provide subsidies/rebates for services provided at the centre.
Please be aware that to access Paediatrician services you require a valid referral or you will be out of pocket the full fee for the services. Note that referrals to specialists are valid for 12 months from the date of referral, thus if you are attending a follow up appointment you may need to obtain another referral to receive a rebate.
Medicare Australia
The Australian Government offer a number of subsidies and require a specifically prepared Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP or referral from your Specialist Doctor. At present you may be eligible for up to 10 rebateable sessions through the better access scheme.
It is important that you are aware that if your child is referred through this scheme, they MUST be in attendance at the conducted session to receive a rebate. Whilst there are plans to incorporate parent only sessions through Better Access, these are not currently available.
Please note that a referral through the Better Access scheme does not entitle you or your child to FREE sessions with our psychologists. You will receive a rebate back from your session. If you have not reached your Medicare threshold for the year these rebates are typically:
- Registered Psychologist - $96.65
- Clinical Psychologist - $141.85
- Provisional Psychologist – no rebate, however you are only charged the GAP amount for the service being provided so as not to be disadvantaged
If you are consulting with us for an assessment service, these sessions are not claimable under the Better Access Scheme, however you may be eligible for a rebate through HCWA (below).
